THE FOUNDRY

The Foundry (Farming Stories) is the Bundaberg iteration of a regional writing project driven by the Queensland Writers Centre (QWC). This was a 3-year (2012 – 15) initiative in partnership with the Queensland Government, Australia Council for the Arts, and the Local Governments of Sunshine Coast, Rockhampton, and Bundaberg. In the Bundaberg leg of the project we also worked closely with Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce and Bundaberg Fruit and Vegetable Growers.

The Farming Stories concept, facilitated by Creative Regions (Bundaberg), set out with the  intention of linking local creative businesses (designers, filmmakers, writers) to the agricultural sector. It told the stories of local families. The resulting outputs, the content, was then repurposed as creative marketing tools for food producing businesses.
